Lindsey has been riding and had a passion for horses since she could walk.
Making her way up through the Pony Club and Riding Club, she was accredited by a British Eventing Coach to participate in British Eventing at the age of just 14. With help from her Brother (professional Event Rider Tim Cheffings) and constant support from Mum and Trainer, Vanessa Cheffings, she is now competing at International CCI* Level. After completing A Levels and going on to gain a foundation degree in Equine Sports Performance and Coaching, Lindsey was assured that she wanted a career in the equestrian industry. Over the next few years Lindsey assisted and then managed the shop at Wychanger Barton Saddlery where she discovered her love for working with horse owners and predominantly, saddle fitting. |
At just 23 years of age Lindsey and her partner set up their own saddlery business, Cheffings Equine. For the following three years Lindsey worked alongside Master Saddler Nathaniel Underwood, before going to Holland to further expand her education.
In 2013 Lindsey became the youngest person and one of only three in the UK to gain International Saddle Fitting Qualifications at University level. Now Lindsey is one of only a few in the country, to hold both the Master Saddle Fitting international qualification and the Society of Master Saddlers Dipolma as a SMS Qualified Saddle Fitter. Lindsey and the business Cheffings Equine are both a retail member of the Society of Master Saddlers and a member of the British Equestrian Trade Assiocation. Lindsey works closely with Physiotherapists, Vets and Trainers as well as assisting remedial cases in saddle fitting. With the horse and riders' requirements, comfort and satisfaction always at the fore, Lindsey provides a friendly and professional saddle fitting service. In 2016 Lindsey and her partner, Stuart, purchased Horses In Sport saddlery, to further expand their business, for which they won the British Equestrian Trade Assoiciation Award for the best Tradestand at the Festival of British Eventing. Lindsey currently works as a saddler full time, as well as competing her horse's regularly at BE, BD and BS with help and further training from Clare Samson and Alice Peternell. |
